Lily and the lotus.blogspot.com and the new smudgy antics challenge ALTERED BOX

Welcome to Lily and the Lotus.blogspot.com
and Smudgy Antics new challenge a altered box.

I found a small box at a thrift store yesterday a sickly lavender probably about ten years old. Paid a dollar for it.
I started with the bottom of the box and painted with black acrylic and then covered it with duncan acrylic rose gloss
I used a rose stamp with staz in jet black ink and stamped the bottom and let dry.
I then painted the roses with Tim Holtz Distress ink Barn Door..I let dry and covered in crackle fired brick and then painted again.
I
I then covered with Ranger glossy accents and then used a heat gun to add  UTEE giving it a old worn effect.
The feet are Tim Holtz ideology.
I used Harlequin lace and black ric rac ,pink Dresden lace I painted acrylic black a skull adhesive embellishment on both sides. I then added a chain using Tim Holtz ideology parts and made bead drops to add to the chain around the entire box.

I took rose tissue paper and tore it into pieces glued them into the inside of the bos and then used modge podge ..i touched up with some black ink and and black acrylic and then mod podged again.
I made post cards using images from smeared ink.The Venice Digi set
I used my new dabbers from Tim Holtz metallic on the rim. and dabbed my paint brusg on the dabber tip to paint the mask on the post cards
The top is from the same smeared ink new release digis with silk rosaes and a joker attachment. I also added a few black blings

The mask was printed out as a 4x6 cut and trimmed I placed card board underneath to lift it up and red net under that to give a red glow in the mouth and eyes. The mask was painted with Tim Holtz metallic  dabber tarnished brass and acrylic black.

Thanks for looking and I really hope you join our challenge..have fun with looking forward to your project.
