Welcome to my blog and to the event http://smearedandsmudged.ning.com/page/design-team-throwdown.
My piece is titled A Visit to Master Poe's and here are some pictures and a few steps I took to make this piece.
The theme is paint and splatter...
I decided to make Mr. Poes house. and place him in the window..and a smart little fairy dropping by to check on him...
I cut the house out of cereal boxes 8 inches long four inches across.
and then painted in a acrylic blue
I made four houses and several more tops to the house, and then dry brushed in a pale blue.
I madeI then used glue squares and jointed them together for thickness.I also finger painted with my staz on jet black a little distress. i used my odds and ends i use as stencils to add flavor to the house. I used Dresden jet black borders on the window trim and roof and bottom. I cut the door out of a cereal box and drew lines painted in brick red and distressed with Tim Holtz picked fence.I splattered brick red on the house.
I stamped and colored Mr. Poe and then I used a goth fairy from Smeared Ink colored her I had to cut her down a little to make her work in the door way.
I also added a bird cage with Mr. Poes raven was stamped colored and placed inside. I used Tim Holtz ideologies (the bird cage) and the jump rings to make this one work.
I also put glossy accents from Ranger Ink to give it a glossy window effect.I hope you like mr. Poes house and his little guest. she is bring him a flower from her garden.
Have a wonderful Sunday today is my moms birthday so off to celebrate..
